For the last two months, I spend a lot of hours on Zepp devices architecture research. Probably this could take much less time if not for continuous air raid alerts and electricity blackouts ). But despite this, I finally can present the first watchdrip integration for ZEPP OS based devices. Since I bought the Amazfit GTR3 Pro first (thanks to Patreon subscribers), the first integration was made for exactly the Amazfit GTR3 Pro device. A little later i also added support for Amazfit Falcon.
Except for the support of a new devices. The new watchdrip app also has new functionality. There was added a few additional features to the application.
- The watchface catalog so you can easily change the watchcase on your device (there are not so many watchfaces at the moment).
- Also added the possibility to add a multiple devices and switch between them.
Configuration tutorial by steps for ZEPP OS devices.
1. xDrip+ configuration
- Make sure you have the xDrip version not older than 10.07.2022. If it is older, you need to update xDrip.
- Go to Settings -> Inter-app settings and enable “Broadcast Service API” checkbox
2. WatchDrip+ configuration
- Install latest WatchDrip+ app
- Switch on “Enable service” checkbox on the main screen and allow all permissions that would be requested.
- Switch on “Enable web server” checkbox.
- Switch OFF “Enable device” checkbox as the Zepp devices do not communicates directly with the Watchdrip app .
3. ZEPP app configuration
- Install the latest original ZEPP application from the android market. And connect your watch. (The communication with the watch will only work if you have ZEPP app installed)
- Turn on the developer mode, for this Go to “Profile” -> “Settings” -=> “About” and click the Zepp icon 7 times in a row until a pop-up window appears
3. Now the custom application and watch face QR code, can be scanned and installed on the device by using the “Scan” function.
4. Install Watchdrip+ watch application by using a QR code from watchdrip site . It is the same for all Amazfit ZEPP OS devices.
5. Install the Watchface file by using a QR codes below for the appropriate device. When you scan the watchface QR code, click on “Install” button near the watchface item to install this watcface on your device.
The watch app is universal. the list of supported devices can be found on watchdrip.org.
If there no Watchface for your device, it is possible to see the BG value in the Watchdrip watch app.

Seen the AOD watchfaces for GTR2, does it cause the battery drain on this model? Still haven’t found any adequate successor to Amazfit Pace from the newer models. I am using it but not with ZeppOS integration (enable device ON, enable webserver OFF) – in a comment in this thread someone is saying that GTS2mini doesnt use this OS. I am wondering what is the benefit of that? Am I missing something? I still have the possibility to replace mi gts2mini with gtr3 or others. Can you make any suggestions about that?

@bigdigital, how were you able to get the Auth Key for the GTR3Pro for your WatchDrip+ app? I tried the latest Zepp 6.1.4 mod app but it won’t install on my Pixel 7, it keeps telling me invalid app. So, I tried all the other earlier versions from Freemyband.com and they all (5.6.1, 5.0.3, etc.) install but won’t pair with the GTR3Pro no matter what I do, unpair in official Zepp app, reboots, uninstalls.
Now I’m stuck since I can’t retrieve the Auth Key from the watch. I know you don’t maintain the Zepp Mod apps. I don’t want to root my phone, do you have any other suggestions on how I can get the Auth Key?

You find it on a forum … @artem maybe u update the guide to this version … in my view it easier with this version … because no unpairing is needed … just one button to press … you can wrote me an email

However, I have 2 things that do not work.
1. The amount and time of the last insulin administration is displayed,

Hi Jensen. I am trying to set up GTS 4 Mini for my daughter but have not done much so far although I have been following Artem instructions meticulously. I got the correct watchdrip+ face up on the GTS 4 mini display but the BG data are not streaming down to it. In the watchdrip+ app I have enabled service and web server. Device button is disabled. In device settings MAC address and Auth key are left empty. Do you have any of these settings set up differently?

for your problem no. 2, i use in the Glucose alerts settings the option “use the Android 8+ channel” and i get the Alarm on my watch. I hope it helps you

Hey! I’m in the same spot. The watchface isn’t updating itself, new BGs are only popping up via notifications. I’ve tried nearly everyting, from shutting down apps 1 by 1, to hard reseting watch. It’s getting stuck with “sleeping” info in watchdrip app. Any luck with getting past it?

I am stuck in getting my daughters GTS4 mini streaming data from xdrip. Watchdrip+ and official Zepp app have been installed and developer mode initiated. I have scanned QR code in developer mode and got the GTS4 mini displaying correct watchface. Xdrip has been set to Broadcast service API. Watchdrip+ device button has been disabled. However GTS4 mini is displaying no data and Watchdrip+ is showing status disconnected. What am I doing wrong?

Never mind. Didn’t realize GTS2 Mini doesn’t use Zepp OS. Turned off “Enable web server” and turned on “Enable device”. Deleted all my custom watchfaces on watch, hit refresh in WatchDrip+ and it worked! Downloaded watchface and now I can see my BG reading on my watch! Thank you thank you!

GTR3 Pro here, BG is displayed and updated with no issue.
The only thing I dont have is the BG alert.
Before with my amazfit BIP, alerts were sent through Watchdrip+ (notification from xDrip were off), the watch was vibrating till snooze or cancel alert on the watch. How is it working now? Are BG alerts are now just sent as a normal notification by xDrip, like any random phone application with a non continuous vibration? It is the only way I managed to receive a BG alert, am I doing someting wrong? Thanks.

I was thinking I missed something in the setup with the GTR3 Pro.
I setup the notification in Zepp app, and will have now to cancel/snooze the alert directly on my phone.

Hi and thank you for the great work and the great further development.
With Libre 2 and Libre 3 sensors I get a vibration alert on the GTS4 Mini. I use Juggluco to read the sensor directly and then forward the values to xDrip or directly to Watchdrip. In Juggluco I activated the hypos and hypes alarms and let the phone vibrate for 1 second.
In the Zepp app I enabled app notifications for Juggluco and added a long vibration to app notification vibrate mode.
Now when there is a high or low alarm my phone will vibrate for 1 second and the GTS4 Minini will vibrate for 10 seconds and then stop. After the set time in Juggluco, the alarm will repeat if the sugar is still too high or low.

Hello to everybody! I was trying to use GTR 3 watch and everything was OK until I was trying to download the watchface – it is only for GTR 3 PRO. I understand this. So I decided to buy GTR 2 because I saw a few people on internet using GTR 2 but I am lost in configuration. Please, can anybody help? I obtained auth key, installed WatchDrip+ to my phone, unlocked dev mode in new official Zepp app but here, for GTR 2, I am not able to download WatchDrip+ to my GTR 2 – error: “bluetooth channel is not available”. I spent 3 days of trying but with no result. I will be grateful for any advice.
PS: I have original xDrip app, I saw, here on blog, information that the fix for Amazfit devices is in official xDrip already ant it is not neccessary to use Artem’s mod of xDrip. Is it also true for GTR 2 or not?
PPS: Please, how can I install watchfaces on GTR2? I found some package on github but I donť know how to install. I though maybe WatchDrip+ in phone will offer me some but not. Is it way to download via PC and put some files to memory? Where, please?
PPPS: are there some special settings in xDrip or API broadcast is enough?

I don’t have my own website and I don’t have a Github – account either.
And since nothing happened when I adapted a watchface for the GTR3, I decided to post my adaptation in the forum: Insulinclub.de”, as a QR code.

Yes, it is because of the last Zepp update, I had to reinstall the previous Zepp version (found as an apk) to retrieve the values back on my watch.

On a GTR 4, I found issues with connectivity. The glucose is lagging sometimes 7 minutes but quite often more than 20 min min or even an hour. It looks like bluetooth connectivity is unstable to comunicate between watchdrip and the watchface. The battery drains in about 24 hours (it use to last me more than 7 days). When AOD shows the glucose, the watchface does not show any glucose value and viceversa. If the watchface shows a glucose value, the AOD shows NO DATA. If my phone is away, reestablishing connection take long even hours to connect back. Please check the algorithm for connecting the watch with the phone app.

For alarms, in xdrip go to settings/alerts & alarms/glucose alerts settings and activate Notification channel (for android 8+).

2. Activate -> choose something other than “OFF”.
If the AOD is deactivated, the display will no longer be updated after a short time.

I only get vibration alarms on my watch from Juggluco, see above in this thread.

Hi,
I just bought a Amazfit BIP 3 watch for daughter. I’m really not sure if it is a Zepp OS watch or not. So I tried all the ways to get the BG data display on it. Things tried so far:
Tried to follow the instructions of Zepp OS watches. When I scan the Watchdrip watch app QR code from Developer mode menu of the Zepp app, it says “Bluetooth channel is not available. Please try again later”
Note: In the Developer Mode menu, when I select “Device information”, it says ZeppOs Api Level: 1.0″. That makes me believe it is a ZeppOS watch.
Also tried the non-ZeppOS approach. The automatic scan in the Watchdrip app does not find the watch.
If the enter the MAC address (Zepp app->About this device) manually and enter the auth key from the huafetcher app, then I get a message “Authentication failed due to authentication timeout. When your Band vibrates and blinks, tap it a few times in a row”. But I do not see the watch vibrate or blink.
Note: the MAC addresses in the huafetcher app and the Zepp app match.
Can someone kindly help me with this? How do I get this BIP 3 watch to work?

For several days I have been trying to connect Watchdrip+ (ver. 0.2.6) to the Amazfit GTR3 Pro watch according to the instructions (Zepp OS). Watchdrip+ does not automatically detect the watch, so I entered the MAC address and auth key manually. After entering the data manually, Watchdrip+ shows Authorization status and nothing happens. I’ve already reinstalled Watchdrip+, Zepp, but nothing helped. Any way to get to Watchdrip logs? Anyone managed to connect Watchdrip+ with GTR3 Pro? What else can I do? Because I ran out of ideas 🙂 Thanks in advance for your help.

please reread the configuration tutorial in this article. There is no need for auth key for this watch model.

I reconfigured step by step. unfortunately, the status is still Authorization, just before this status is Getting software info. The steps are simple, so it’s hard to go wrong with the setup. I just sent feedback along with the application log, maybe there is information in the log where the error is.

you only need to activate the options “Enable service” and Enable web server, and disable “Enable device” option. Install wathdrip watch app and appropriate wathface for you device by using a qr code. That’s all. Did you do it?

With “Enable device” disabled, the status is disconnected and the watchface shows the status No Data.
Watchdrip+ receives data from xDrip+. xDrip+ receives data from Juggluco. It works without issues.

I reinstalled Watchdrip+ again. The settings are exactly as described in the tutorial. Watch face installed. Unfortunately, there is still no data in the watch – No Data is displayed on the watch face. In Watchdrip+, the status is empty (no status). Is there any way to check if the Watchdrip+ API is working? Or maybe there is some error in the shield? Maybe another watch face is available to test if the API works? Forgive me for digging this topic, but your solution is great and I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t work for me 🙂

Works! I reinstalled the Watchdrip app on the smartwatch and the data started showing up on the watch. Thanks again for your help and above all for the great job you did 🙂

Hi. Watch face shows No Data, but WatchDrip+ watch app show BG correctly. I tried reinstall watch app and watch face, reseted smartwatch but that didn’t change anything. What I’m missing?

Hello, on my watch GTR 4 I cannot see the glukose, it says NO DATA. But in the app WATCHDRIP I see the glukose level normally. So the problem si somewhere between WATCHDRIP and the Watches. I have the correct customized WATCH FACE for GTR4, but watches still says NO DATA. In the Watchdrip I have all set as recomended. I also tried total restart to factory set, but still does not work. Can you please help me?

Everythink solved, I skippet one step from the instructions. So it was my misteke. In the development mode I instaled only modified WATCH FACE but I forgot to instal also watchdrip into the watch. So I hade watchdrip only in my mobile, but not into my watches. But the guys on the chat helped me and now it works perfectly 🙂

I’ve just bought an T-rex 2 and configured it sucessfully.
I want to use it for running too, but I’ve found out that if I star a training I can’t see the sugar levels. Is this like this or exist any posibility to train and control levels?
If there is a method couls someone tell me the link please? I’ve just starting with this and looking here, in facebook groups but haven’t found anything yet

Thank you, we will definitely win and punish evil. You can enable notifications from xdrip In the Zepp app. And configure alarms in the xdrip. In this way you will receive notificationas about alarms on your watch

Hello Artem, after my last message, reading your blog again, I saw that there was a QR for GTS4, it worked for a few days, now I have changed the mobile to Samsung A34 and I have stayed as before, I don’t know if the reason they don’t arrive The data is from the new mobile or I did something wrong at some point during the configuration. For some strange reason I can’t install a watchface for my MiBand7. I was able to complete all steps for pairing, installed the watchdrip miniapp from QR code, but watchface QR codes don’t seem to work. Just endless “downloading” screen. Could you please update the QR codes or tell me how to solve my problem?

Hi Artem! Thank you for your hard work. You help many people in need. I have a problem with my GTR4. I can’t download a watchface using a QR code. I’ve tried different watchfaces, even from other models. I’ve rebooted my watch and phone. The download hangs with the message “Downloading”. Can you suggest any solution?
I’m using Zepp App v8.3.0,
WatchDrip App v0.2.6,
and Watchdrip+ watch v1.3.1.
Watchdrip+ watch correctly shows the BG value.

Hi Artem, I tried to install the last v0.3 on my miband6 but unfortunately it did not work as I got a message on the band saying that I needed to install ‘the latest release’ (???).
I have been using the v0.2.6 for several months on the same miband6 without any issue.
Is there something special to know to upgrade from v0.2.6 to v0.3?
I have downgraded back to v0.2.6 and it works like a charm again.
